The IOAPA Executive Committee wishes to express its solidarity with the people of Ukraine against the invasion of its sovereign and independent nation by Russian military forces with support from Belarus. IOAPA unites with the International Olympic Academy (IOA) and International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the condemnation of these unacceptable and aggressive actions. 

We support the call of the IOC and IOA regarding the withdrawal of international sport events taking place in Russia and Belarus as a direct consequence of these countries’ failure to abide by international law, the Olympic Truce, and the fundamental values of Olympism. 

Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine as well as their families and friends around the world as we offer strength and unconditional support through this crisis. Our undeniable hope is that peace will return to your nation and the world in short order.
